Tatiana is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in San Diego, California.
With over ten years of experience in the mental health field, she is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of practice are: first responders/lawenforcement, trauma, grief and loss, relational issues including high-conflict couples, Native American populations, forensic populations, severe mental illness, and life transitions. In addition to private practice, Tatiana provides clinical supervision to students from several universities, including SDSU and USD.In addition to direct practice, Tatiana acts as a Subject Matter Expert for the Board of Behavioral Sciences to help construct the future California state licensing exams for Marriage and Family Therapists.
In the past Tatiana has acted as the program director for a specialty mental health court program for San Diego County providing intensive rehabilitation services to mentally-ill offenders, director of a mental health urgent care clinic, and has been a member of San Diego's Psychiatric Emergency Response Team. She has also worked as a Supervisor for County funded programs and a therapist with Indian Health Services.
In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, Tatiana has presented at conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of Adverse Childhood Experiences, childhood depression, Historical Trauma, and suicide. She has also worked on a National training curriculum to Improve the Response to Child Abuse Victims with Disabilities. And has assisted with San Deigo State's Behavioral Health Education and Training Academy in creating a curriculum to teach behavioral health providers how to best work with Native Americans.
Tatiana is an interactive, strengths-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
When outside of her professional capacity Tatiana enjoys spending time with her family and rescue animals and being outdoors.
